The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  South central Fairfield County in central South Carolina...
  North central Lexington County in central South Carolina...
  Northwestern Richland County in central South Carolina...

* Until 245 PM EST.
    
* At 215 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located near Ballentine, or near Highway 6 at Lake Murray Dam,
  moving northeast at 50 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near...
  Irmo and Ballentine around 220 PM EST.
  Fairfield County Airport around 230 PM EST.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Pine
Island, Rion, Lighthouse Marina, Lake Murray Marina, Bundrick Island,
Putnam's Landing, White Rock, and Blythewood.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 26 between mile markers 93 and 101.
 Interstate 77 near mile marker 30.

TAKE COVER NOW! If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a
vehicle, move to an interior room or closet on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building immediately.

This Tornado Warning includes portions of Lake Murray. Boaters, move
to shore and take shelter on the lowest floor of the closest sturdy
building!
