Widespread and possibly heavy rainfall is expected in this area, primarily through the day and evening on Friday. One to three inches of rain are currently forecast across southeastern Missouri and southern Illinois late Thursday evening through late Friday evening. While not expected to be widespread, locally higher rainfall is possible. Flooding of small creeks, streams, and other flood-prone areas could occur if persistent high rainfall rates develop.
