The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Vermilion River At Lafayette, Surrey Street Gage.
* From Wednesday evening until further notice.
* At 10:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 5.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise to 6.0 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall to 5.8 feet and begin rising again
tomorrow morning. It will rise above flood stage late tomorrow
evening and continue to rise to 13.0 feet early Thursday
afternoon. It will then fall again but remain above flood stage.
* Impact...At 13.5 feet, Flooding of some yards near the river will
occur. Significant flooding of Beaver Park and Vermilionville will
occur.</description>
