Prepare for significant wind damage. - ACT: Move to safe shelter before the wind becomes hazardous. - POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant - Some damage to roofing and siding materials, along with damage to porches, awnings, carports, and sheds. A few buildings experiencing window, door, and garage door failures. Mobile homes damaged, especially if unanchored. Unsecured lightweight objects become dangerous projectiles. - Several large trees snapped or uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are shallow rooted. Several fences and roadway signs blown over. - Some roads impassable from large debris, and more within urban or heavily wooded places. A few bridges and access routes impassable. - Scattered power and communications outages, but more prevalent in areas with above ground lines. * STORM SURGE - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Life-threatening storm surge possible - Peak Storm Surge Inundation: The potential for 7-11 feet above ground somewhere within surge prone areas - Window of concern: Wednesday afternoon until Thursday evening - THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for storm surge flooding greater than 9 feet above ground - The storm surge threat has remained nearly steady from the previous assessment. - PLAN: Plan for extreme life-threatening storm surge flooding greater than 9 feet above ground. - PREPARE: Evacuation efforts should soon be brought to completion before driving conditions become unsafe. - ACT: Leave immediately if evacuation orders are given for your area to avoid being cut off from emergency services or needlessly risk lives. - POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Devastating to Catastrophic - Widespread deep inundation, with storm surge flooding greatly accentuated by powerful battering waves. Structural damage to buildings, with many washing away. Damage greatly compounded from considerable floating debris. Locations may be uninhabitable for an extended period. - Escape routes and secondary roads washed out or severely flooded. Flood control systems and barriers may become stressed or overtopped. - Extreme beach erosion. New shoreline cuts possible. - Massive damage to marinas, docks, and piers. Numerous small craft broken away from moorings with many lifted onshore and stranded. * FLOODING RAIN - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: - Peak Rainfall Amounts: Additional 3-6 inches, with locally higher amounts - THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for moderate flooding rain - The flooding rain threat has remained nearly steady from the previous assessment. - PLAN: Emergency plans should include the potential for moderate flooding from heavy rain. Evacuations and rescues are possible. - PREPARE: Consider protective actions if you are in an area vulnerable to flooding. - ACT: Heed any flood watches and warnings. Failure to take action may result in serious injury or loss of life. - POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant - Moderate rainfall flooding may prompt several evacuations and rescues. - Rivers and tributaries may quickly become swollen with swifter currents and overspill their banks in a few places, especially in usually vulnerable spots. Small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches overflow. - Flood waters can enter some structures or weaken foundations. Several places may experience expanded areas of rapid inundation at underpasses, low-lying spots, and poor drainage areas. Some streets and parking lots take on moving water as storm drains and retention ponds overflow. Driving conditions become hazardous. Some road and bridge closures. * TORNADO - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: - Situation is somewhat favorable for tornadoes - THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for a few tornadoes - The tornado threat has remained nearly steady from the previous assessment. - PLAN: Emergency plans should include the potential for a few tornadoes. - PREPARE: If your shelter is particularly vulnerable to tornadoes, prepare to relocate to safe shelter before hazardous weather arrives. - ACT: If a tornado warning is issued, be ready to shelter quickly. - POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited - The occurrence of isolated tornadoes can hinder the execution of emergency plans during tropical events. - A few places may experience tornado damage, along with power and communications disruptions. - Locations could realize roofs peeled off buildings, chimneys toppled, mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned, large tree tops and branches snapped off, shallow-rooted trees knocked over, moving vehicles blown off roads, and small boats pulled from moorings. http://www.weather.gov NWSheadline STORM SURGE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT... ...TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT... ...HURRICANE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT VTEC /O.CON.KLCH.SS.W.1013.000000T0000Z-000000T0000Z/ EAS-ORG WXR PIL LCHTCVLCH BLOCKCHANNEL EAS BLOCKCHANNEL NWEM BLOCKCHANNEL CMAS St. Mary 29.751,-91.215 29.728,-91.179 29.724,-91.134 29.703,-91.112 29.700,-91.100 29.695,-91.095 29.644,-91.106 29.638,-91.090 29.627,-91.083 29.617,-91.117 29.608,-91.121 29.609,-91.139 29.603,-91.139 29.604,-91.151 29.593,-91.162 29.597,-91.173 29.609,-91.175 29.608,-91.184 29.584,-91.219 29.576,-91.225 29.562,-91.223 29.551,-91.235 29.545,-91.257 29.553,-91.271 29.547,-91.284 29.534,-91.287 29.511,-91.272 29.498,-91.278 29.484,-91.279 29.479,-91.285 29.482,-91.314 29.485,-91.335 29.496,-91.352 29.486,-91.469 29.519,-91.551 29.542,-91.528 29.551,-91.525 29.568,-91.541 29.583,-91.537 29.633,-91.554 29.642,-91.586 29.636,-91.584 29.626,-91.623 29.632,-91.663 29.643,-91.637 29.711,-91.618 29.735,-91.622 29.746,-91.671 29.737,-91.714 29.749,-91.737 29.745,-91.781 29.742,-91.778 29.703,-91.859 29.711,-91.881 29.731,-91.857 29.738,-91.856 29.741,-91.854 29.780,-91.800 29.846,-91.712 29.945,-91.625 29.956,-91.472 29.947,-91.470 29.905,-91.413 29.875,-91.401 29.834,-91.374 29.784,-91.386 29.766,-91.352 29.765,-91.299 29.752,-91.244 29.751,-91.215 29.332,-91.353 29.329,-91.374 29.404,-91.508 29.425,-91.491 29.425,-91.466 29.368,-91.349 29.333,-91.346 29.332,-91.353 29.428,-91.259 29.420,-91.334 29.449,-91.351 29.462,-91.297 29.468,-91.292 29.428,-91.259 UGC LAZ054 SAME 022101
