Northeastern Hardin County in central Iowa...
* Until 215 AM CDT Tuesday.
* At 810 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported the ice jam along
the Iowa River had broken up, releasing a surge of water
downstream. Gates on the Iowa Falls Hydro Dam will be open to
release excessive water and ice. Rapid rises are expected
downstream along the Iowa River.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Iowa Falls and Steamboat Rock.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
